Materials
The Tempest is designed for use with plant-based materials.
If you use sticky or resinous materials, the optional Titanium Filter fits between the two magnetic halves and helps manage residue buildup in the labyrinth. Note that the filter itself will also accumulate residue over time and should be cleaned regularly.
The Anodized Surface
The Tempest is made from aircraft-grade anodized aluminum. The anodized layer is not a coating — it's part of the metal itself, formed through an electrochemical process that hardens and seals the surface.
Light surface scratches from normal use are cosmetic and do not affect performance.
Deep gouges or abrasion damage that compromise the surface integrity of the bowl take the pipe outside the conditions it was designed and tested for. If your bowl has been deeply scratched or gouged, we recommend discontinuing use and contacting support.
Heat Sources
The Tempest is designed for use with a standard lighter, match, or hemp wick.
Do not use a torch. High-heat sources such as torches are considered misuse and void warranty coverage.
Cleaning
Use isopropyl alcohol and a soft bristle brush. The Tempest splits magnetically so you can reach every surface.
What not to use
Avoid metal picks, wire brushes, knives, or any abrasive tool. These can scratch through the anodized surface and are considered improper cleaning under our warranty policy.
Do not put the Tempest in the dishwasher. High heat, harsh detergents, and long soak cycles can discolor the finish and may void warranty coverage.
When to Stop Using the Pipe
Discontinue use if:
- The bowl has been deeply gouged through the anodized layer
- The halves no longer seat properly
- There is visible structural damage to either half
Surface wear, minor scratches, and discoloration from regular use are normal.

Warranty
1-year limited warranty
The Tempest is covered for 1 year against manufacturing defects under normal use.
What's not covered
- Surface damage from scraping, abrasion, or improper cleaning
- Damage from misuse, including use with high-heat sources such as torches
- Products that have been modified, altered, or disassembled beyond intended use
- Normal wear and tear

Email support@highartifact.com with your order number or store receipt, and clear photos of the issue.
